Danny Shittu has said he was delighted to get on the scoresheet against Aston Villa, and he was pleased to get involved with every set piece for a change.

Speaking to the official site following the game, the centre half said.

‘This is the first time the manager has told me to go up for every set piece. It was nice to be back up there again because normally I’m on the halfway line. I’m happy to have got the goal.’

He would be, it’s his first in our colours.

Shittu doesn’t mind who we get in the next round, because he knows we’ll give it our all anyway.

‘I don’t mind who we have as long as we have them at The Den. Whatever team comes here will find it very hard.’

Danny also cracked when speaking to the wider press, that one of the Villa defenders were begging him not to score again.

‘I was surprised because most of their guys were small. The guy they put on me looked really worried. He was begging me in the second half to try not to score a goal. We’re very happy with the way we played.’
