New manager Ian Holloway has given his first interview since taking the reigns at The Den.

He attended the training ground for the first time earlier today where he spoke to the players, looked at the training facilities and maybe put a rubber duck on his desk and started jotting down some ideas for analogies for future interviews, given some of those in the past have been quite infamous.

Speaking to the official site Holloway explained.

‘I’m delighted to be here. I was out of work and got a phone call from a fantastic friend of mine in Kenny Jackett. He recommended that I speak to Andy Ambler and John Berylson. I asked him why, and he told me what kind of people they are.’

Holloway goes on to explain that he met Andy on Thursday and then spoke to our chairman on Friday and he was ‘completely blown away for lots of reasons. Everything they want for the club completely mirrored how I feel. I’ve never felt so wanted in my life.’

Holloway doesn’t have long to bed in at the club before our next game but he’s pretty clear on what he wants from the squad moving forward.

He goes on to say that he wants the players to start enjoying coming to work again, enjoy themselves playing football because it’s one of the best jobs you can ever get lucky enough to do, and it’s not fun when you are being beat, and he wants to enjoy himself in this job, and he’ll only do that if the players are enjoying themselves as well.

Let’s see if his lively style of management proves fruitful.
