Winger Lee Martin has today signed a new two year deal with Millwall.

Having played a big part in our turnaround last season that saw us avoid relegation with an eight match unbeaten run, manager Ian Holloway was keen to keep his services at the club for longer, so will be delighted to see him put pen to paper on the contract extension.

Speaking to the official site, the gaffer said.

‘I saw signs towards the end of last season that Lee could become the player Manchester United thought he might be. I’m looking forward to working with him again next season because I think we will see even more from him.’

Martin, when speaking himself about the deal, admitted that Holloway played a big part in his decision and he’s looking forward to kicking on under him now.

‘I knew as soon as Ian came here that we would be moving in the right direction and he is certainly the manager who can get the best out of me.’

It’s not been a bad week for Millwall really, with goalkeeper David Forde also securing his future with us, and with striker Lee Gregory – potential so far – becoming our second signing of the season, Martin really does feel that things are coming together ahead of our return for pre season training and then what will hopefully be a league campaign that sees us challenging far higher up the table.
