Kenny Jackett has said he is excited by the prospect of facing off against Premiership strugglers Aston Villa in the fourth round of the Cup.

Speaking to the official site after the draw was made, the gaffer said.

‘I’m very pleased to have drawn a Premier League club of the tradition and status of Aston Villa, particularly at home. It gives us something to look forward to at the end of the month and between now and then we can focus on some important Championship fixtures.’

The game will be a interesting match up for former Villa youngster Shane Lowry, who added.

‘Obviously I’ve got many friends at Villa, including Nathan Baker, who was here at Millwall for a spell too. We’ll be hoping for a bit of a giant killing.’

The game at The Den will take place on the weekend starting January 26.

  • Hi all you Millwall boys,

Your team is doing well and you have a very good manager. I’m an old Sarf London boy and used to frequent the Thomas A’Beckett when it was a real pub and they actually sold beer there. It should be a really exciting cup tie, which could go either way. Best of luck in the Championship.

  • Could be interesting. We see how Lowry has progressed, and you see how Baker has progressed. We aren’t struggling though, we are finding our feet! What do you lot think about us being linked with Trotter and Henry – can’t say I know much about either to be fair.
