Danny Shittu has signed a new two year deal with Millwall, keeping him at the club until June 2015.

The 32 year olds existing deal was due to expire next month, but after having a good season with us and taking on the mantle of captain, the club have moved to tie him down.

Speaking to the official site after signing the deal, Danny said.

‘There’s been a couple of months of talks and I’m delighted to have got it done. We have had a lot of ups and for me to be staying here shows that I believe in this club and I believe a lot can come from it.’

Andy Ambler added.

‘We’re delighted Danny’s committed himself to the club. We were keen to ensure that the foundations Kenny Jackett has put in place would be available for the new manager to build on, and Danny was a key element in that.’
