Marcus Bignot has signed for Millwall on a permanent basis after Kenny Jackett agreed a deal with QPR for the defender.

The 33 year-old has been the subject of intense transfer speculation over the past month and his move to The Den was finally completed on Monday afternoon.

Bignot has penned an 18-month contract with the club, although Millwall Online understand that he has not joined in time to start against Walsall tomorrow night.

Lions chairman John Berylson told the Southwark News last week: “Marcus has been an important player to Kenny, he is a real leader. He improves Whitbread and Robinson by being a smart head at the back and we would of course like to see him again at the Den.”

Starting his league career at Crewe, Bignot went on to play for Bristol Rovers and Rushden & Diamonds before eventually moving to Loftus Road in 2004.
